Together We Rise Collab!
Posted on 05 March 2019
Two and a half years ago I was on the verge of launching my online shop and a new collaborative tee with fabulous feminist bakers Meringue Girls. To be honest it’s a blur now, because it also happened to be the same week that I was having my second baby. Why did it pan out that way? Because I’d waited so long to find a like-minded fun, feminist brand to collaborate with that I just couldn’t say no. And part of me really believed that the baby would know this and hang on a few days. She didn’t, but Meringue Girls were so lovely and supportive that it didn’t matter.
My friends and family did a lot of t-shirt packing on my behalf and somehow it went off without a hitch. Two years on I feel significantly older, if not entirely wiser…
This International Women’s Day I couldn’t resist another collaboration with London’s famous feminist bakers. So, I lent my lips motif to them to decorate meringues. The lip design has been meticulously printed onto rice paper and applied to individual treats.
I’m a huge fan of Meringue Girls playful feminist style. This proves what I’ve always thought: You don’t have to be serious all the time care about a cause that means a lot to you. Passion can mean fun.
This collaboration has also been an opportunity to reflect on just how far Age of Reason has come in 2 years. Packing tees in the spare room is thankfully a thing of the past, and my planning has improved somewhat too; no more babies and big deadlines colliding!
London residents can order trays of these fabulous meringues. And if you love the “Together We Rise” motif, the tee is back in stock now!
