What's The Pin House?
Posted on 02 October 2016
In 2015 independent seamstress Nicola Carr had been producing scarves and clothing on a small scale for Age of Reason for 4 years. That year Age of Reason designer Ali, and Nicola attended Meet The Manufacturer show together in London.
By speaking to business leaders at the show, it became clear that for both businesses to thrive, Nicola would need to hire assistants and become a bigger enterprise. With help and support from Age of Reason, The Pin House was born in Yorkshire.
A year later, at the same London trade show, the studio was leading a major initiative to produce clothing live for Mary's Living and Giving shops to raise money for Save The Children UK. The Pin House has since gone from strength to strength, and now produces high end clothing for several exciting British brands.
Age of Reason continues to direct as much work as possible to The Pin House. We believe that by sharing a key supplier with other labels, the UK manufacturing community strengthens and becomes more economically sustainable. We have never found a studio inside the UK or outside that can produce their quality of work on a small scale. To see what our customers think, take a look at our Testimonials.
